Lacrosse Girls beat previous best
Cranleigh’s ten-girl squad surpassed their previous best in the Surrey Indoor 5-a-side tournament on December 4th ,having nearly always come 3rd in previous years.
They soundly defeated Croham Hurst (9-1) and Coloma (9-3) in the rounds, and lost only to Guildford High and thus had to meet St Catherine’s in the semi finals yet again. In a very exciting game, with St Catherine’s missing a penalty shot on goal, Cranleigh came out the victors 3 – 2!
So it was Guildford High again in the final. It was an excellent effort from everyone, but Cranleigh were narrowly beaten 4 – 2. However, this was a big turn around from 8-1 in the earlier round.
So Cranleigh came second in Surrey: a fine achievement, especially in the hockey term.
