Senior Squash Team storm to Surrey Division Two Championship
On Sunday 2nd December Cranleigh’s Senior Boys reclaimed their Division Two title which they won two years ago.
We entered three teams for the mid-season ‘Surrey Schools Squash Championship’ held at Epsom College. The tournament was organised by Surrey Captain and World Masters Finalist, Neil Frankland, who comes to coach at Cranleigh on Monday afternoons. Three players made up each side, our secret weapon being our very own ‘Kenyan Connection’ in the guise of brothers, James and Duncan Allan! They led the line at Numbers 1 & 2 in the team with Max Martin at Number 3. Max played his best squash of the season to remain unbeaten throughout the tournament. These boys beat teams from KCS and Epsom, amongst others, to claim the trophy.
Elsewhere, our two other teams fought gamely. Chris Williams, Alex Gardner and IVth form rookie, James Evans made up the second team. They finished sixth in the Second Division. Finally, Dan Rozwadowski, Freddie Comber and Roly Sims made up the third team and they battled to seventh place overall.
