Young Consumer of the Year Quiz

On the 27th March four LVIth politics/economics students from Cranleigh represented the county of Surrey in the Young Consumer of the Year Regional Quiz Final by dint of having won the Surrey competition. Under the stewardship of captain Ben Sanderson, Freddie Comber, Ross McWhirter and Chris Williams were ready to battle it out for a place in the national final.

The quiz is a citizenship-based quiz designed to test knowledge of:

    * Consumer Rights and Responsibilities
    * Money and Finance
    * Food and Health
    * Safety and the Environment
    * Europe

In the end the team from Kent took a well-deserved first place; however, our third placing, given this was Cranleigh's first year of competing in this competition, was more than respectable. All team members had a great day and have learnt some useful information (no more than 6 grams of salt per day, chaps!).

We look forward to doing better next year.
