CCF Easter Camp

A party of nine army cadets accompanied by three staff spent an arduous, but enjoyable, Easter week at Ffridd Farm in southern Snowdonia. Despite varied weather conditions (snow wind, rain, sun, more wind, more snow) we managed a mixed programme of adventurous training activities. Good Friday was spent exploring the Nantlle Ridge, a first for all of us, and, despite violent gusts of wind threatening to knock us off our feet, a great discovery. Subsequent days saw us rock climbing, exploring old slate mines, mountain biking, go-karting, on the obligatory visit to Harlech Castle and paintballing. The trip culminated in a two day, overnight, expedition out into the Rhinnogs, where the fresh snow and low temperatures added a certain something to the experience!
As ever this was a great trip to a wonderful part of Wales, accompanied by some determined youngsters. Much was learnt, new skills were acquired and a good time was, as they say, had by all.
