Foundation receives significant boost to Michael Roulston Bursary Scheme

Chairman of the Cranleigh Prep School Committee, Governor of Cranleigh School and parent Dick Powell has given a tremendous impetus to the Michael Roulston Bursary Scheme. His significant pledge endorses his heart-warming address given at Michael’s leaving party held in the Wyatt Hall on Friday 14th March.
Dick says:

“Michael's time as Master of Cranleigh Prep School made a huge difference to our school. And now, the Michael Roulston Bursary scheme sets the tone for its future by widening access to deserving children. Michael poured his life and soul into our school and, by supporting his Bursaries, I can put a little back in thanks for what the School has done for my three boys.  These Bursaries will allow children whose families could not otherwise afford to do so, an opportunity to share in our wonderful facilities and outstanding teaching. That, I think, is a significant step forward for Cranleigh School.”

Foundation Director David Johnston adds:

”Here is a committed parent, Governor and supporter of our School, showing how to push back the boundaries of involvement. The pledge gives an incredible boost to an already blossoming bursary scheme, which will help us initiate our plans to tangibly reach out into the community and widen access to Cranleigh.”

Acting Head at Cranleigh Prep School, Robin Gainher went further by stating:

“This really doesn’t surprise me at all. Dick has been a great supporter ever since the first of his three sons came to the Prep School over fifteen years ago. He has always had faith in our School and so the prospect of bringing talented children into our community, who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to maximise their full potential, is uplifting for all of us connected with the Prep School”.
