Foundation receives re-investment of scholarship

The Foundation has received another considerable shot–in-the-arm.  A £10,000 cheque from the parents of a child who entered Cranleigh with a scholarship came with this comment -

“We were very pleased when our daughter was awarded a scholarship to Cranleigh. It was a great honour and the Scholars’ programme has really stretched her.  However, we had doubts about accepting financial support that we did not “need”. The Foundation allows us to give some of the money back and, moreover, to do this tax efficiently.  We are happy that the money will now go where it should go – to those who need financial support in order to benefit from the great opportunities a Cranleigh education offers. “

This donation gives added momentum to the Michael Roulston Bursary launched in March 2008 and due to take its first two local students in September 2009 for entry to Form 5 at Cranleigh Prep School.
