Cranleigh’s first ever Charity Family Triathlon on Sunday 15th June was a great success. 65 participants competed in the event: 26 individuals and 13 teams. The weather was perfect and a fabulous atmosphere was created by those cheering the competitors on as they came in and out of the transition area.

 

There was an outstanding winning performance by the Storey family team who completed the triathlon in just 28 minutes 35 seconds!  Close behind them was the Prep School team ‘Honor and Parents’, finishing in 29 minutes 41 seconds.  The first individual competitor to finish, Chris Preece, was hot on their heels with a speedy 29 minutes and 53 seconds, followed by Tom Batchelor in just 30 minutes 22 seconds.

 

 

A mention must be made of our Common Room competitors, in particular Frank Hardee who displayed great sportsmanship and impressed everyone with his determination. A very big thank you goes out to all those who helped marshal on the day, as well as all the competitors who helped raise over £750 for Camp Kenya Trust.  We look forward to an even bigger turn out next year!
