The Williams Library was one of the first school libraries to become computerised, thus enabling easy access to all 15,000 books and other resource materials. The Library not only provides an information resource for pupils at all levels, but also provides an opportunity for pupils to develop a sound grounding in basic research techniques before moving on to higher education.
There is a popular audio-visual section where DVDs and CDs may be borrowed in the same way as books. Although there is a large Shakespearean library of videos, there are also many foreign films and classics, historical dramas, documentaries, and a good selection of the latest entertainment DVDs.
There are various magazines covering a wide range of subjects, and ‘The Times’ is available daily.
The Library is given an extremely generous annual budget, which enables the Librarian to update material for all subjects regularly. Pupils find the Library, and adjacent Reading Room, a tranquil and peaceful setting in which to study.
