It's still not too late to apply for the Ladies' Diamond Jubilee Tennis Tournament on Wednesday 30th
If you enjoy tennis, please come and join in as it's a very friendly, social morning with a delicious lunch at the end. We put together courts with players of similar abilities so applications from individuals, pairs or groups are welcome.
We're still looking for more players with sons/daughters in IV form as it's a great way to get to know other parents from your child's peer group.
As reported earlier in the term, Cranleigh made it through to the Regional Final of the BBC Schools Question Time competition. This competition is run as a partnership project between the BBC and the Parliamentary Education Service, and therefore an ideal opportunity for the School’s Politics and History society (the Knoller Society) to get involved.
This stage of the competition requires the School to make a five-minute film debating one of the topics we chose on our original application form. We decided to plump for the defence review and the impact of the budget cuts. So - in an already hectic and packed end of term complete with snow problems – Hugo Moxey (representing the armed services), Emily Coleridge (taking the position of a peace campaigner), Peter Thompson (representing the defence Think Tank RUBI) and our very own David Dimbleby (Alex Curtis) met in the School’s Reading Room to film our short five-minute debate.
The film was shot and produced by the School’s successful media club and Declan Wynne (UVIth) was particularly helpful, along with our resident IT team of Mr Futcher and Mr Reid. Thanks also go to all the members of the Politics and History department who assisted in the production of the entry
The judging of our entry now takes place over the weekend and early next week; readers of the website will be informed of the result.
