The Cranleigh Foundation is committed to providing opportunities to pupils who would not otherwise be able to benefit from the School’s outstanding facilities.
Foundationers will usually need to board and the preferred entry age is 11+ but where necessary it may be at any age and could be for a day place.
Applicants must live within a 30 mile radius of the main School gate and possible reasons that may demonstrate a severe need to be educated at Cranleigh School include:
The death of one or both parents Single parent or parents who are unable to cope for physical or mental reasons The chronic mental or physical ill health of sibling(s) The disability of a sibling of sufficient severity to affect the care and development of other children in the family The abandonment or abuse of a child Orphan with guardians who cannot cope on a day to day basis (e.g elderly grandparents) Orphan with no guardian, that may benefit from boarding rather than going into care
