The Welsh 3000s
Each Summer Term, after A2s have finished, a group of Upper Sixth Formers attempt this famous traverse of the 15 peaks over 3000 feet in Snowdonia, North Wales. It is a demanding expedition of 30 miles, with 12,000 feet of ascent. The challenge is to complete it in one continuous walk within 24 hours.
The Route:
The route is over rocky terrain, but it does not involve climbing. The views are spectacular and the ground much more rugged than either the Black Mountains or Mid-Wales.
