Foundation Membership
Unless anonymity is requested, the Foundation will be keen to recognise the generous support of all donors by incorporating them as members of the Foundation as set out below. Any member will be eligible to apply to become a Trustee of the Foundation.

  • Each member of the Foundation will receive a formal invitation to key school events (such as Speech Days, Concerts, Plays, Christmas Services and Dinners).
  • The Cranleigh Foundation will further recognise the generosity of members by inviting them each year to attend an annual Foundation lunch, hosted at Cranleigh by the Headmaster.
  • The names of all Patrons will be included on the list of 'Benefactors of the School' (the first two being those of Cranleigh's Founders, the Revd Henry Sapte and Sir George Cubitt).  The names of all Benefactors are read out at the annual Founder's Day Service each Michaelmas Term.
  • The advice of Patrons and Fellows will be sought concerning the criteria used in choosing Foundationers from the list of those applying.

Further opportunitites for Recognition
Further recognition is available to donors who might wish to name a part of the new Academic Centre after a particular member of their family. For example,

Pupil Sponsorship
The Foundation aims to support pupils with academic, sporting or artistic potential who live in the West Sussex-Surrey area and come from less wealthy families. Donors will be offered the opportunity to get to know their sponsored pupils and to follow their progess throughout their time at Cranleigh. In this way, the Foundation will encourage sponsored students to forge a long-standing relationship with their benefactors.

A target donation value of £50,000 is proposed for a ‘named Foundationer', allowing the Foundation to support a talented pupil in each academic entry year for a period of ten years from the date of donation. 

Academic, Sports or Arts Awards
The Foundation will offer named awards or prizes at the annual School prize-giving ceremony at a donation value of £50,000.   A suitable award or prize will be provided annually by the School for a period of twenty-five years in your requested name and category.
