On Wednesday 19th November 5 Young Enterprise companies from Cranleigh took to the stage at the old Guildhall, in Guildford and presented their Business Plans to The Dragon’s Den and an audience of 17 other companies from schools inSurrey Helpers Presenting to Dragons @ Guildhall Nov 2014 the West Surrey area.

Young Enterprise is the United Kingdom’s largest business and enterprise education charity work, working in partnership with: Deutche Bank, The Department for Business Innovation and Skills, The Schroeder Foundation, HSBC and Virgin Money to name but a few. YE hope through their work “to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise” and their guiding principle is to do this through “learning by doing”.OriOri Making Dragons Laugh @ Guildhall Nov 2014

50 Cranleigh students are doing YE as one of  their priority time options this year. Each company has created their own products and services, opened a business bank account with HSBC and, with the help of a Professional Business Advisor, are learning that running your own business is complicated, hard work but also fun.

One of our companies, OriOri make an ancient Chinese form of Origami and are creating beautiful Christmas decorationsOriOri with Dragons and Certificate for 2nd Place Nov 2014 and extending their range for Valentine’s Day, Easter and the Wedding Season next summer. They impressed the judges with their business acumen and left the the Dragon’s Den with 2nd prize.
