Five students are celebrating after receiving offers from Oxford and Cambridge last month.  From the current upper sixth form, Olivia Chesser (South) has an offer from Corpus Christi, Cambridge to read NaturalStudents with Oxbridge Offers_24757 Sciences and Ellie McAleese-Park (West) will be hoping to go to Christ’s College to read the same.  Maddie Lock (South) has an offer from Fitzwilliam, Cambridge to read Drama and English, whilst Alasdair Johnston (Cubitt) will be hoping to head to St Anne’s, Oxford to read PPE.

Clare Marsh, who left South last summer after achieving four A starClare Marsh grades in her A levels, has an unconditional offer from Churchill College, Cambridge to read Geography.

Headmaster Martin Reader is clear about what leads to such success: “We are delighted about the outstanding academic achievement of our Oxbridge candidates. The competition for places is increasingly intense, and proof of scholarly skill and ambition is paramount. The fact that all of our successful candidates have combined excellent academics, with school leadership, major roles in drama productions, prize winning music, successful sport and community activity goes to show that Cranleighans do not have to sacrifice all to achieve their intellectual goals. In fact, their success is probably because they have not done so.”
