The riding season got off to a positive start at an Inter –Schools Show Jumping competition at Brinsbury College on May 16th. As a warm-up for the upcoming National Qualifiers it was a lovely opportunity for the teams to get outside after the long winter and for some of our younger riders to show how they have come on. 
We fielded two teams in the intermediate competition, too, and once again they were pitted against each other in the jump-off along with two other schools which had finished on zero after the first round. This jump-off was even closer, with only one team going clear in the end and our two teams having to wait to see who had the fastest combined time after both finished on a total of eight faults. Eventually it was the Blue team of Tom Lane, Emily Brock, Issy Rennocks and Bella Roberts who just pipped the Gold team of Josie Wait, Tom Lane (on his second horse), Chloë and Hattie Allison.
