Cranleigh boasts a wealth of tennis courts, with 12 recently-surfaced hard courts, and 12 courts on one of our Astroturf surfaces. In the Summer term, the Tennis Club provides opportunities for squad players to benefit from focused training sessions run by a team of professional coaches. Every Saturday there are extensive inter-school competitive fixtures, for boys and girls of all ages. As well as the normal boys’ and girls’ doubles matches, mixed doubles matches are arranged for the senior pupils. The boys’ teams take part in the Independent Schools League, and teams are entered in the two national schools’ competitions, the Glanville and Abedare Cups, as well as the Surrey knock-out competitions, the Rootham and Branston Shields. At the end of term, our best players take part in the Independent Schools’ Tournament held at Eton. Many players take advantage of pre-season coaching and practice during the winter terms also.
