Sixth Formers held a concert for the Sixth Form in aid of Tsunamis relief charity and EnKI last October raising nearly £200. Sixth Formers held a concert for the Sixth Form in aid of Tsunamis relief charity and EnKI last October raising nearly £200. This was organised by Ione Haddock, our House charity representative. We held a cake sale in November for EnKI and £280 has been donated to decorate a hall that we helped fund construction of last year (through our ‘Cookathon’ and Ready, Steady Cook’ Competition) at the Ronda school, Kenya. Proceeds will also go towards our continuing sponsorship of one of the school’s pupils called Auma Melvin.
We will be dedicating funds from our forthcoming charity walk between CHICKS and EnKI. We are joining with Loveday to undertake a 10km sponsored walk bringing together pupils, families (and their dogs!!) from both Houses to raise money for our respective charities. Families will raise a minimum of £10 as part of the walk and special charity walk t-shirts will also be on sale before the event. This will take place mid March on the last weekend of this term.
Recently we collected loose change in a collection box for the victims of Haiti and were able to send a modest donation of £20. This is perhaps a charity that we will hope to give more support to in the future alongside our on-going support of our House charity EnKI.
