Last Sunday saw Cranleigh host an International Hockey Tournament; a touring team from Leiden inHockey Int Holland were joined by teams from Cranleigh, Kingston Grammar and Horsham HC for a girls’ Under 17 event.

The matches were all played in very good spirits and the standard was impressively high. Cranleigh won all 3 of their matches and came away winners. The Dutch girls enjoyed their visit: the link we have forged with Leiden is a strong one (having done reciprocal visits for the last 4 years), and I am sure that we will be looking to repeat this exercise next year. The weather was excellent, maybe a bit too hot for hockey, but the supporters had a great day and everyone enjoyed a buffet meal and celebrations following the tournament.
