The first half of the Michaelmas term has seen some excellent hockey results from a number of sides. The 15Bs and 15Cs both have a 100% win record; the goal tally for the Bs is an amazing 26 goals for and 6 against, whilst the Cs have 9 for and only 2 against. The 3rds and the 14Bs are not far behind, being unbeaten so far with one draw each and the rest all wins. The 3rds have an impressive 21 goals scored whilst the 14Bs have scored 13 and conceded just 2.
Director of Hockey, Richard Organ said: “It’s great to see such consistently strong performances from so many sides and it will be interesting to watch the challenge of remaining unbeaten for the whole term.”
The first week of Long Leave sees almost 50 boys and girls off to Holland to train and play indoors. Then, during the second week, the following will be training in their junior England training squads: Zoe Allchurch, Harry Gough, Coca Hall, Rosie Hope, Izzy Petter, Millie Regan, Fifi Robinson and Taylor Seager-Green. We wish them all the best.
Finally, following trials for both Pippa Lock and Amber Walton during the past month, Pippa has been selected in the new GB Development Programme that sits just below the full, centrally-contracted GB programme, which Old Cranleighan’s Charlotte Calnan and James Gall are both in. Pippa is the only schoolgirl in the country to be selected for this new squad that is made up of the best under 25s from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, outside of the centrally-paid programme.
