This year has seen an extremely successful round of North American university applications for Cranleigh students.

All three of our Ivy League applicants were awarded places: senior prefect Oliver Corbett at Brown, Maya Magee at Dartmouth and Andy Kim at Cornell, the university where, in March 2019, he won a prestigious award for Fashion Design.

The Ivy League universities generally admit fewer than 10% of all applicants so this is an outstanding achievement for these three students.

Rosie Hope was awarded a hockey scholarship to the University of Michigan, which is not only one of the powerhouses of American college sport but is also habitually ranked as one of the top 25 global universities, in terms of academics.

Meanwhile, Old Cranleighan Tom Fox, having made a post-A Level application, was awarded a place at McGill University, the most academically prestigious university in Canada.

Head of University Admissions, Mr Gordon Neill, said “These students were all extremely focused, determined and well-prepared when it came to their applications and richly deserve their success. I am delighted for them. North America is becoming an increasingly attractive option for our students, as their holistic approach to university admissions plays so much to Cranleighans’ strengths.”

Our warmest congratulations to all five of these students.
