Yesterday, Rebecca Baron, Head of Social Mission for Ben & Jerry’s Europe came in to give a seminar to the Upper Sixth Religion & Philosophy students on Business Ethics. The students were able to discuss the factors that have led to the current trend of businesses adopting more ethical practices, by using Ben & Jerry’s as an example of a consistently ethical company.
Rebecca mainly focused on the history of Ben & Jerry’s and how the founders built the business based on their core values. It was also interesting for the Upper Sixth to listen to how the Ben & Jerry’s core values play out in practice and how many consumers are interested in the ethical practices at Ben & Jerry’s.
As well as Rebecca Baron, I would also like to thank Abi Hunt from Ben & Jerry’s, who assisted with the organisation of the event.
