On the 12th January the CCF travelled to Christ’s Hospital, who kindly let us use their indoor 25m range.

After a safety brief and a lesson on marksmanship, Cadets took part in a number of shoots on various targets: group, rapid, decimal and a snap. There were three standards that could be achieved, pass, 1st class and marksman. The aim of the day was to get a few passes. However, with only six firers time could be spent coaching, and we came away with five marksman and a pass.

A marksman badge is rarely earned by a Cadet, so to achieve this on the first time shooting is outstanding. The future of shooting looks bright, and Cadets will progress onto different weapon systems working towards representing the School at Bisley.

Well done to those that took part.
