The Design department was very pleased to hear that an item of last year’s A-Level Product Design work was the only school-based piece to be featured in the New Design Magazine 100th edition (worldwide circulation). You can view the feature by clicking here and then ‘flidesign - loop 2pping’ through to page 23.

The editorial panel of New Design selected an item for inclusion which was designed and manufactured by Sam Camsey (North, 2012).  Many schools applied to be in this publication and did not get an entry, so Cranleigh is justly proud of this achievement.

It is worth having a look through the range of work featured in the publication – it shows the type of work that we would like to see develop here in Design at A-Level as the department continues to develop.

As New Design states, “The Design department at Cranleigh School is proud of both its heritage and divergent approach to both the academic and creative aspects of design education.  ‘Loop’ clearly illustrates the relationship between detailed traditional craft practice and innovative design. ‘Loop’ offers the user relaxed, contemporary seating whilst contributing sculpturally to the surroundings it finds itself in.”
