On Wednesday 31st January, the boarders enjoyed an outing to watch ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’ at the Cranleigh Arts Centre.  After the excitement of choosing from the great selection of drinks and sweets, we settled down to watch the film.

We realised we’d all had a pretty good day when we watched poor 11-year-old Alexander experience the most terrible and horrible day of his life.  The film starts with him having gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his family about his disastrous day, they’re not very sympathetic and he begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him.

However, Alexander soon realises that he’s not alone when his mother, father, brother and sister all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day clearly just hasn’t had one!

It was an amazing film which I would definitely recommend, and it has a lot of meaning to it as well.  Join boarding to go on another fun trip like this one!
