Our three new Poet Laureates were announced in assembly last week, after lots of pupils in the Lower, Middle and Upper School had submitted a fabulous selection of poems on \u2018Friendship\u2019. Congratulations to Mathilda B (Form 6), Marni W (Form 3) and Gabriel J (Form 2).<\/p>\n
The newly crowned Poet Laureates have been busy writing their Christmas poems, which will be shared with the other children during our final assembly on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Mathilda B of 6Ho writes:<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve only had one Christmas.<\/p>\n
It was Christmas eve;<\/p>\n
All was enchanted with beauty.<\/p>\n
Not a single sound is to be heard\u2026<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Marni W from 3M describes the scene and has a word of advice:<\/p>\n
The star on the tree shines brighter than me,<\/p>\n
And the robins outside are dancing with pride,<\/p>\n
Hold on to those near,<\/p>\n
All through the year.<\/p>\n

Gabriel J, our youngest Laureate, describes the children at Christmas:<\/p>\n
Children staring up at night<\/p>\n
Hoping to see the reindeer in flight\u2026<\/p>\n
Waking up in the morning,<\/p>\n
What\u2019s that at your feet?<\/p>\n
