{"id":41323,"date":"2020-11-03T09:45:02","date_gmt":"2020-11-03T09:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cranprep.org\/?p=41323"},"modified":"2020-11-03T09:45:02","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T09:45:02","slug":"cps-turns-orange-for-autumn-mufti-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cranleigh.org\/prep\/2020\/11\/03\/cps-turns-orange-for-autumn-mufti-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange Autumn Mufti Day raised \u00a3750!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cranleigh Prep was awash with orange for its first charity event this term, Mufti Day, on Friday 16th October which raised a staggering \u00a3750.&nbsp; We asked pupils to go orange\u2019 and bring in \u00a31 each to support the Lower School charity, Challengers.<\/p>\n<p>Challengers provide a fun environment with a variety of activities for disabled children and young people across the South East.&nbsp; They are currently running &#8216;Orange October&#8217;, encouraging schools, youth groups and as many people as possible to take part in their orange activities to raise awareness and fundraise for them.<\/p>\n\n<p>As you can see from the wonderful photos, the pupils certainly rose to the challenge with lots of fabulous orange outfits.<\/p>\n\n<p>Charity is an important part of school life at Cranleigh Prep. The children are always so keen to participate and run charity events for their chosen organisation.&nbsp; Covid-19 has made things slightly challenging this year, but this has not deterred the School Council from coming up with creative events that we could run as a school.<\/p>\n\n<p>This year, we have decided to continue to support the same charities as the last academic year.&nbsp; These are:<\/p>\n<p>Lower School: Challengers&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/disability-challengers.org\/\">https:\/\/disability-challengers.org\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Middle School: Make-a-Wish&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.make-a-wish.org.uk\/\">https:\/\/www.make-a-wish.org.uk\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Upper School: Cardiac Risk in the Young&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-r-y.org.uk\/\">https:\/\/www.c-r-y.org.uk\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cranprep.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG_5322-Copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-41327\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cranprep.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG_5322-Copy-250x167.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"167\"><\/a>Emma Lewis, Deputy Head Pastoral, says &#8216;Due to COVID restrictions all monies collected went into quarantine over half-term. However, having now been counted, we are delighted to announce that we&#8217;ve raised \u00a3750, our highest total ever on a Mufti Day.
