On Friday, our swimmers competed at the prestigious Bath Cup, held at the Olympic Aquatic Centre. They delivered outstanding performances, with many achieving personal bests. Notably, Felix B. shaved three seconds off his previous time in the Men’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay. Boys’ captain Jamie T. impressed with a swift 26.40 seconds for his butterfly leg of the 4x50m Medley, matching the times of medal-winning teams. Hana A. and Siena R. also put in strong performances in the 4x50m Freestyle, clocking 30.38 and 30.79 seconds, respectively. The girls’ team placed 22nd in the 4x50m Freestyle and 17th in the 4x50m Medley in the small schools division. The boys ranked 15th in the 4x100m Freestyle and 12th in the 4x50m Medley—just missing out on the final! We also wish the team well today in the A Final of the School’s Swimming League. We also wish Benji W. the best of luck on the ESAA (English schools cross country championships) this weekend where he is running alongside Rafi W. from CPS.
Over the weekend, the boys’ football team secured some superb results, with the 1st XI dominating RGS Guildford in a 7-0 victory. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th XIs also won, with Charlie E netting a hat-trick for the 3rd team.
The boys’ hockey teams had a strong afternoon, playing 13 matches, winning 7, drawing 4, and losing just 2. A special mention goes to the U14C team for securing their first win of the season with a 5-0 victory and to the 2nd XI for an impressive 4-1 performance.
The netball teams played a mix of internal and external matches. The U14A side delivered a commanding 37-27 win against Waverley Vipers, while the U15A team played out a thrilling 24-24 draw. The 3rd VII finished as runners-up in the Bowl competition, with a standout performance from Evie A, who was named Player of the Tournament. In a highly competitive match against Charterhouse on Thursday, our squash team, comprising four girls and two boys, narrowly missed victory. Notable highlights included Rupert H dominant 3-1 win at number one and Emily W. tenacious five-game triumph. We also had football, netball and badminton matches during the week. The 1st VI Netball team won a terrific game on Wednesday 43-24. The team were dominant from the start and produced an excellent performance. We also saw victories for the 15C and 15D netball teams and a thrilling 30 all draw at 15B level. the Boys football teams came away with victories at in all teams with the 2nd XI building on their recent highly impressive performances with an 8-1 c=victory with Pere B as player of the match.
Will B. received formal notice that he had been selected to represent Britain as part of Team GB at the ILCA 6 (International Laser Class Association) U19 European Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal in April. Very exciting news for Will who is on the RYA Olympic Pathway Programme. Congratulations to Charlotte B. and Joe T. who both were at U18 international rugby camps last weekend.
Also a well done to Sienna V. who has been selected again for the Surrey Women’s junior golf program. On Monday, the U15 boys sevens team made it to the quarter finals of the Surrey Cup. A really pleasing performance from the group.
