We had three outstanding performances in Swimming and Cross country over the week. Felix B. and Jamie T. both broke schools records in the 50m Breast stroke and fly respectively. Felix’s record was over 10 years old and a superb achievement from him. Benji W. took silver on Saturday at the Surrey cross-country championships. A remarkable achievement.

Last weekend saw us play 35 matches across Football, Netball and Hockey. Nationally school sport numbers are dwindling but it is wonderful so many out there.

The football teams played 5, won 4 and drew 1. Special mention goes to Harry W. who was outstanding for the 2nd XI in their 4-2 win. The Boys’ Hockey saw us play 13 games against Charterhouse, winning 6, drawing 3 and losing 4. Special mention goes to the 1st XI who won 2-1 and the U14’s who for many were playing their first game of hockey ever! The Netball teams played a mixture of Seaford and Lord Wandsworth due to our ability to field so many teams. We played 18 matches, winning 14 of those games.  There were some outstanding team and individual performances with the 4th VII winning against a 3rd VII 25-17. The 2nd team and 16C were both involved in thrilling matches which came down to a single point. The 2nd team won 27-26 and the 16C 20-19. The 16D lost but showed excellent spirit and were playing against a B team and captain Georgia R., Amaya A. and Coco H. were excellent throughout. The 15B won 22-12 with Gracie G. in goal defence the player of the match with the 15C’s winning 45-1 with CicI V. shooting brilliantly. The 14A won 37-32 and well done Meggie P. for her performance. Emma C. was superb in the 14C’s in their 21-15 win.

Teams of the week:

A very close run:

1) 14A boys hockey who although missing a handful players scored with 30 seconds to go to win 2-1 and claim their first victory of the season. The team spirit and togetherness was excellent.

2) 16A netball who won 43-13 and played some superb netball throughout. In particular Tega S., Maddie B. and Vivi G-A. were excellent in a tremendous display of netball

During the week we saw a variety of matches in Netball as well as Girls’ and Boys’ Hockey. The Boys’ 1st XI hockey side continued their impressive Tier 1 season with a 5-0 win against Sir William Borlase. The Girls 1st team sadly lost 3-1 but had an excellent 2nd half. We also saw our 16A boys hockey team win in their England Hockey Tier 2 1st round, 4-3 against Lancing.
