Carolyn Nicholls

Ms Carolyn Nicholls has taught mathematics at Cranleigh since 1985. She was educated at Wycombe Abbey School, and read Engineering at Oxford University. Ms Nicholls was Head of Girls’ Games in the 1980s and 1990s,  then Director of Sport for 8 years. She is currently Head of Co-curricular Administration, Head of Squash and  co-Head of Hockey and Tennis.

In her early years at Cranleigh Ms Nicholls was warden of one of the Sixth Form girls’ residences, and then Head of Girls during the transition to full co-education. At Oxford she won Blues in squash, tennis and lacrosse. She has won the British over-40s real-tennis title twice. Nowadays her sporting focus is golf.

Ms Nicholls’ daughter Chloe, who was educated at Cranleigh between the ages of 7 and 18, is now a doctor, having studied medicine at Cardiff University.
