David Mulae

Mr David Mulae is the Assistant Head Pastoral and a Biology Teacher. He graduated from The University of Manchester with a BSc(Hons) in Biomedical Sciences then spending time studying at Imperial College, London, before completing his PGCE at The University of Cambridge (Homerton) in 2009. He spent 13 years at Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham as a Teacher of Biology and held many additional responsibilities in his time there including Housemaster for eight years before joining Cranleigh in 2022.

At Cranleigh Mr Mulae has the responsibility as a Deputy Safeguarding Lead to support the Pupil Leadership groups including Cranleigh Being and Alliance; acting as the school’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Lead; Supporting the HM body; and supporting pupil and staff wellbeing. He also sits on the steering committee of the Schools’ Inclusion Alliance (SIA), of which Cranleigh School is a member.

Mr Mulae enjoys playing many sports socially including Cricket, Badminton, Squash, and Football. He has been an Officer in the Air Cadets since 2008 and enjoys supporting the School’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) with its activities.

Mr Mulae also has previous experience as a Local Academy Board member (Governor) of an all through (4–16) academy school in Crawley.
