Emily McGhee

Mrs Emily McGhee joined the drama department at Cranleigh School in September 2014. She received her BA (hons) in Drama at Loughborough University where she studied a range of modules including puppetry, costume design, devised performance and theatre in education. With a passion for working with young people she then went on to teach at Stowe School for two years, where she was also resident tutor in a large girls boarding house.

Since joining the drama department at Cranleigh, Mrs McGhee has directed numerous productions including the musicals Chicago, We Will Rock You and Moana and has also written and directed three immersive performances, Alice, Narnia and Neverland which allowed Cranleigh audiences to experience a very new and exciting form of theatre. Having initially been a tutor in Cubitt house, Mrs McGhee joined the team in South in 2017. 

Outside of school Mrs McGhee makes the most of the close proximity to London by attending as many plays as possible as well as building on her vast knowledge of the world of Disney.
