Mrs Joanne Lawton is a teacher of Mathematics and Physics, and a tutor in North. After graduating from the University of Warwick with a Mathematics and Business Studies degree, Mrs Lawton spent 7 years working as a management consultant for Arthur Andersen and then Deloitte. After completing a PGCE at Roehampton, she gained invaluable teaching experience at a South London comprehensive school before spending ten years involved with teaching and tutoring Maths and Business Studies at Emanuel School in Battersea. She joined Cranleigh School in September 2021.
A keen sportswoman, Mrs Lawton is never happier than on a hockey pitch and is involved in coaching the girls’ and boys’ hockey in the Michaelmas and Lent terms. By Easter though, she is always ready to hang up her stick (and her raincoat) and pick up her tennis racquet for the summer term.
