Mr Emley attended Sherborne School before graduating from Manchester University with a BA(Hons) in Geography. Mr Emley’s enthusiasm for Geography drove him to work and travel across over 50 countries for ten years. In this time he spent seven years teaching in secondary schools and Universities in Northern Japan.
Returning to London with level 1 Japanese (similar to an MA) he worked as an Economics Journalist reporting on the European shipping and commodities markets, in Japanese, for the Japanese Government. Missing the excitement of the classroom, Mr Emley returned to teaching in 2015, completing his QTS and PGCE at UCL while teaching Geography at Glyn School in Epsom. Mr Emley is a keen rugby forwards coach and blues harmonica player.
