On Thursday May 9th Cranleighans turned out in force for House Athletics. The competition was fierce in all categories. West took both the Junior and Intermediate Girls category and, although South won tHouse Athletics.NEWS.4he Senior Girls, West were the overall winners with 208 points to South’s 186.

Loveday won the Junior and Senior Boys categories, with Cubitt taking the Intermediate category. Overall, Loveday were crowned champions with 440 points, with Cubitt on 412, North 335 and East 322.

Additionally, four School records were broken: Tats St Pier’s 8.74m in the Intermediate Girls shot beating the record of 8.36m; Pip Johnston’s 19.35m in the Junior Girls discus beating the record of 18.92m; Emily Thorpe’s 12.69s in the Junior Girls 100m beating the record of 12.90s; and Chloe Nicholls’ 40.26s in the Intermediate Girls 300m beating the record of 40.9s.

This follows an athletics season which has already seen multiple School records smashed in just the opening weeks of competition.
