Cricketer CupThe Old Cranleighan Cricket Club have once again made it through to the final of the prestigious Cricketers Cup competition, held each year between England’s leading independent schools. The OCCC beat the Shrewsbury Saracens in an extraordinary manner, blasting them out for 33 thanks to the bowling performance of the season by OC captain Matt Crump – returning figures of 6 for 7. The final result was Shrewsbury Saracens 33, Old Cranleighans 228-9*.

The Old Cranleighans will be playing the Old Tonbridgians in the final, after the latter beat Charterhouse in a much more closely fought match, ending with Charterhouse Friars 216-9, Old Tonbridgians 227-9*.

The Old Cranleighans v Old Tonbridgians final will take place on 18th August at Wimbledon CC – please do come along and support the Old Cranleighans in what promises to be an exciting match for the Cup. Not only will there be some excellent cricket, but it also promises to be a great family day out, with the a Champagne and Pimms tent, BBQ,Bouncy Castle, Ice Cream Van, full cash bar and restaurant facilities – and the prospect of glorious weather, all the better to enjoy picnics around the boundary.

Wimbledon CC have kindly agreed to host the day and their support is much appreciated. Wimbledon CC is easy to get to and sits at the back of the All England Tennis Club. We look forward to seeing you there.
