A long afternoon away at King’s Canterbury for hockey fixtures on Saturday afternoon did not deter the riders from an early start on Sunday for the trek to Eaglesfield Equestrian Centre, near Sevenoaks, for a South East Regional Show Jumping Qualifier.  With only two opportunities this term to qualify our Show Jumping teams the pressure was on and the competition was fierce as everyone chased the two qualifying places in each class.

The Mini team of Daisy Roberts, Lila Millard and Issi Hollidge were just pipped into third place in the first class ofIMG_0388 the day, with a second Cranleigh team of Amy Scheijde, Phoebe Going, Lulu Garlick and Lila, on her second ride, finishing in sixth place, once again showing our strength in depth.  The Novice team of Sam Hollidge, Charlie Johnson, Sarra Alayann and Lila Millard were slightly off the pace on this occasion but produced some good rounds to finish in fifth place in the most competitive class of the day.

The Intermediate team of Caileigh Faure, Charlotte Livingstone, Freya Hough and Sarra held their nerve over a big and technical course to take the second qualifying spot in this class and then Caileigh, Charlotte and Freya were joined by Amelia Adorian in an even more challenging Open class to achieve the same position.  Amelia gained an individual qualification by finishing second in this class too before going on, with Caileigh, to tackle the Advanced Open Individual Qualifier.  Both of them were competing at this level for the first time and Amelia did exceptionally well to finish second and gain a qualification, with Caileigh finishing in fourth.

Another successful day for the riders with just two more qualification events to go before the National Championships.
