Form 6 pupils following the Humanities programme visited Pitch Hill to complete the fieldwork component of their Geography assessment on 3rd November.

The weather forecast for the day was extremely unfavourable, but being well-informed and prepared geographers, we donned the appropriate wet-weather attire and managed to complete all the fieldwork studies under drizzly leaden skies.

Pupils successfully completed a number of practical investigations of footpath erosion which complemented the geomorphology unit of study that the pupils have been following this term. Cooperation, planning, organisation and careful following of instructions were all required to enable the pupils to develop the necessary skills to add to the knowledge they have gained in their lessons this term.

We are also indebted to Sayers Croft Field Centre who assisted with this fieldwork trip.
