after a couple of much needed brief physio sessions on the edge of the course mid-race. Mr Simpson said  ‘the event itself is a real spectacle and the support received by all runners is tremendous. The memories and pain will stay with me forever’.

Mr Simpson would like to say an enormous thank you to all of the school community for their support and donations before, during and after the run. The marathon is the first of three events he is attempting this year with two cycling events remaining: King of the Downs (115 miles) and Newcastle to London (310 miles) in 24 hours. Many congratulations to Gareth for a very impressive achievement; If you wish to support him and donate to Q.E.F. please do so via his Virgin Money Fundraising page: www.virginmoneygiving.com/garethsimpson
