Will A and Finn T have been selected for next season’s Harlequins U13 Developing Player Program (DPP). Put forward by Cranleigh Prep’s 1st XV rugby coach, Dom Britt, the boys joined 120 of the best players in their age group from the region for a trial at Surrey Sports’ Park in Guildford last Tuesday evening.
The trial involved doing four practice matches and drills, testing their speed as well as their hand/eye co-ordination. Will and Finn clearly performed well as they were selected for the squad of 20 that represents an initial foray into the world of elite sport. They will train on Mondays once a month throughout the whole year with the club and will begin to understand what is required to play at the highest possible level. Well done, boys – we are all very proud of you.
