On Monday 10th March, our U11 hockey team competed in the National Hockey IAPS Competition at Framlingham College after their impressive regionals performance at Ashford Prep School. Adding to the occasion, the squad stayed overnight and enjoyed a fantastic couple of days, representing Cranleigh Prep to their best.

Placed in a challenging group, the team competed well in every match and were narrowly on the wrong end of a few of the results. However, their exemplary conduct was once again recognised by the umpires, with one commenting, “You have a really lovely team and a great group of boys.”

Cranleigh progressed to the plate competition, where they narrowly missed out on a place in the final after a tense golden goal defeat to Cargilfield School. Finishing 12th in the country, the team can be immensely proud of their performances. Remarkably, they never lost a match by more than one goal throughout the day and only fell 1-0 to the eventual winners.

The team’s progress this season has been outstanding, as well as their commitment and determination. Mr Weaver and Mr Thomas are incredibly proud of them—well done, boys!
