Cranleigh Preparatory School is a thriving, co-educational day and boarding school for children aged 3–13, set in the beautiful Surrey Hills. We believe that happy children learn best. Cranleigh Prep’s pastoral care is woven into every part of school life – from form time and assemblies to playtimes and co-curricular activities. Our Learning for Life programme helps pupils to develop self-awareness, emotional intelligence and an understanding of the world around them. Topics such as friendships, health, digital awareness and citizenship are explored in age-appropriate and engaging ways, giving children the tools to navigate life with confidence and compassion.
Beyond the classroom
Life at Cranleigh Prep is full of opportunity. Every pupil is encouraged to try something new – whether it’s a sport, an instrument, a club or a creative pursuit. There are more than 50 co-curricular activities on offer: from drama and design to coding, cookery, outdoor adventure, and competitive sport. Trips, expeditions and residential visits add a sense of adventure and teamwork, helping pupils to build independence and lasting friendships.
Boarding and community
Boarding at Cranleigh Prep offers a flexible and family-focused experience. Our boarders enjoy a true sense of community, with evenings filled with shared meals, games and time to relax with friends. Whether children join us as day pupils or boarders, everyone belongs to a close, caring network where older and younger pupils look out for one another. The strong links with Cranleigh Senior School also ensure a smooth and natural transition for those continuing their education within the Cranleigh family.
