The chapel at Cranleigh Prep School looked wonderful yesterday, as pupils and staff took part in a lovely service, celebrating the Harvest Festival.

All the window sills, and several tables around the chapel, were adorned with goodies ranging from fresh fruit and vegetables, to chocolates, biscuits and tinned food.

Many thanks to Dave Burt, from Cranleigh Baptist Church, who gave an excellent sermon.

Today the Chamber Choir sang at Rowley’s Day Centre in Cranleigh, sharing the beauty of their voices with people in our village community. Singing ‘For the Beauty of the earth’ and ‘Peace like a River’, they demonstrated some lovely harmony work, and then everyone joined in together to sing ‘All things bright and beautiful’.

One person said afterwards ‘You have made an old man happy today!’ which was a lovely compliment, and the children were glad to feel so appreciated. Following the concert, the harvest gifts donated to school for our Harvest Festival were taken into the centre ready to distribute to people who need them. Here is a photo of Georgia D and Ted S delivering Harvest gifts.

We are extremely grateful to all our pupils and their families for such generous donations to the Harvest collection. I’m sure they will be very much appreciated and enjoyed by all those who receive them via Rowleys.
