Many congratulations to Jamie T, Form 4, who won the gold medal for his 100m freestyle, crowning him Surrey Champion for the U11s. His new time of 1.09.37 currently ranks him No. 2 in the UK.
Jamie has been swimming with Guildford City Swimming Club since he was six, and he’s currently in the County Squad. This involves training at Surrey Sports Park for seven hours per week.
There are three more Surrey Championship events ahead, so we shall look forward to hearing how Jamie gets on. He will be swimming at Surrey Sports Park, then at the London Aquatic Centre, before taking part in the final event at Crystal Palace at the end of February.
