Our Prep School VEX V5 Robotics teams represented the school superbly at the recent Regional VEX V5 Robotics Event held at Cranleigh School. The day was filled with challenge, excitement, and impressive performances that showcased not only technical ability, but also the wider skills our pupils are developing through robotics.
Throughout the competition, pupils demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills, confidently identifying issues, testing different solutions, and refining their designs when things didn’t go as planned. Their persistence, creativity, and positive attitude were evident at every stage, particularly when facing unexpected challenges during matches. Rather than giving up, teams adapted, learned from setbacks, and made thoughtful improvements.
Strong planning and organisation were also clear across the event. Teams approached the competition with clear targets, high expectations, and a real sense of ambition. Careful preparation, strategic thinking, and sustained focus allowed pupils to make the most of their time and resources, always striving for the best possible outcome.
Equally impressive was the level of teamwork on display. Pupils worked collaboratively, sharing ideas, listening respectfully to one another, and contributing positively to group tasks. Cooperation and mutual support were central to their success, with teams showing real maturity in how they worked together to achieve shared goals.
We were especially proud of our Prep teams who finished 3rd and 12th overall in a highly competitive field — a fantastic achievement and a real reward for their hard work and dedication.
A special mention must go to the senior VEX teams, whose guidance and encouragement throughout the event were invaluable. Their support, advice, and willingness to help created a fantastic atmosphere and played a key role in boosting the confidence of our Prep teams. This sense of collaboration across age groups truly reflected the spirit of the VEX community.
Well done to all pupils involved for their commitment, enthusiasm, and outstanding representation of the school.
