Strengthening Ties and Celebrating Excellence in China

Cranleigh’s team visits Changsha and Wuhan for best practice sharing, choir performances, and community excellence.

During the week commencing 27th April, our international team travelled to China to visit our schools in Changsha and Wuhan. The trip focused on best practice sharing and quality assurance, further deepening the ties between the schools and Cranleigh UK.

Alongside learning walks, student and staff workshops, senior leader meetings and co-curricular observations, the team enjoyed the delights of a choir repertoire, which included a song from The Greatest Showman, sung beautifully in English, and a traditional Chinese folksong. The team also had the opportunity to observe students (and definitely not participate in!) scaling the intimidatingly high, new climbing wall and bouldering facilities in Changsha. They also talked to students around the campuses about their school lives and ambitions.

A massive thank you to Heads Adam McRoy and Dean Arthur (and their respective teams) for making us feel so welcome and demonstrating that Cranleigh’s schools in China are not only achieving excellence in all core educational areas but are also fantastic communities which nurture individuals.
