Ailsa Wates (West L6th) has been selected to represent Great Britain in the Junior European Eventing Championships in Bialy Bor, Poland from August 13th to the 16th.  Ailsa has taken part in a tough selection procedure over the last six months designed to identify the most talented British junior riders and their horses: riding her mother’s horse, Woodland’s Persuasion, this culminated inIMG_1275 a final trial last weekend before the six selected riders were announced.  Ailsa delivered solid performances in all the trial events, with only one show jumping pole dislodged throughout the whole process: none-the-less this was her first season on the Junior programme and competition was fierce so she is both thrilled and delighted to have been selected.

Cranleigh’s Director of Riding, Sophie Spear, said: “Ailsa has worked exceptionally hard to achieve this standard and the School is incredibly proud of her achievement. We wish her every success in Poland.”IMG_1276
