This week has clearly demonstrated what Cranleigh is all about!

The U16 girls’ hockey team completed the double by becoming National Outdoor Hockey Champions after a nail-biting penalty shoot out Hockey National finals_26189against Repton in the final (this follows their win at the Indoor Championships in January).  The U18 team reached their final to be narrowly beaten by Repton 1-0 and take the silver medal.  (Full report to follow but you can see the photos online here)

In the Bath Cup on Friday (a relay event, inaugurated in 1910 by The Bath Club, a sports- focused London gentleman’s club, which is steeped in history) the swimmers were on top form too, with the  Girls winning Silver in the medley relay and Bronze in the freestyle relay, with School records in both. The boys were fifth in the freestyle and broke a 21 year old School record in the medley relay to take bronze, the first medal for them since 2000! (Full report to follow)

Amidst all of this the U5th D of E candidates were completing a two day expedition in the New Forest, Artists were taking part in a full day workshop, Geographers were engaging in a fascinating lecture on Global Catastrophes and a 50-strong cast have been completing the final touches for the performance of Les Miserables which opens for five nights on Monday.

There are 15 hockey teams, 18 netball teams, 4 football teams, swimming and riding teams competing for Cranleigh today, with the canoeists taking to the water for a DW training camp once this is all over this afternoon!

We breed them tough at Cranleigh!
