On what must be the hottest year on record, the 47th annual Prep Schools’ Tennis Festival took place on our astroturf courts yesterday.

Fourteen boys’ pairs and fourteen girls’ pairs from local schools competed, with each pair playing in seven or eight matches over the course of the day.

In the boys’ semi-finals New Beacon beat Windlesham, and Hall Grove beat St Andrew’s Woking. In the girls’ semi-finals Prior’s Field 2 beat Cranleigh Prep, and Guildford High beat Prior’s Field 1.

After two finals which included an excellent standard of play, New Beacon retained the boys’ trophy, and Guildford High won the girls’ event.

Prizes were presented by Jamie Bartlett, our Head of Tennis.
