Huge congratulations to Old Cranleighan hockey players James Gall and Izzy Petter who have both been selected for the Tokyo Olympics.

James joins the men’s squad and Izzy will play for the women’s team in the tournament that starts in July.

Another OC, Will Calnan, is a reserve for the men’s squad. All three played in the recent Euros in which the men lost 2-3 to Germany in the semi-final before losing by the same score against Belgium in the bronze medal match. The Women secured fifth position and an automatic qualifying place in next year’s World Cup, along with the men.

Cranleigh is the only school to have a representative in both the Men’s and Women’s Olympic squads and we wish them good luck and success in the tournament, which we will be watching along with millions of others.
