Pupils are celebrating record GCSE results, with 36% of all grades an A* and 68% of all grades being A*/A. Both of these results are the best in Cranleigh’s history. In addition, 100% of students gained 5 GCSEs at A* to C grade.

The overall pass rate was 97%, with 100% of pupils passing the core subjects of Maths and English.

Eighteen students were awarded nine or more straight A*s: Isabella Backhouse, Isabella Bounous, Katherine Carr, Benji Chesser, Ben Church, Sophie Dixon, Millie Glaister, Tom Hartley, Sophie Howard, Alice Isted, Emily Isted, Henry Macpherson, Bea Packenham-Walsh, Ella Pilling, Hugo Puddle, George Rock, Toni Taor, Ben Wili and James Williams. In fact, seven of these students achieved a full house of 10 A* grade.

Deputy Head Academic, Mr David Boggitt, said: “Raising attainment year on year does not come without a huge amount of work from both pupils and teachers. We are extremely pleased with these record results and equally pleased with the enormous efforts put in by staff and pupils over the last year. These pupils will mostly be staying on in the Sixth Form for A Levels and we look forward to continuing to help them to achieve their academic goals.”
